At the heart of the business is Simon, whose career in catering began at just 15 years old with an apprenticeship at St John’s College, Oxford. From there, he went on to build extensive experience across some of Oxford’s most respected schools, colleges and hospitality settings, including St Edward’s School, The Dragon School, Lady Margaret Hall, Jesus College and Brasenose College. He later progressed into a senior catering management role within the University of Oxford catering world, developing the knowledge, leadership and high standards that now shape Catering by Simon today.
Simon also spent time at Jamie’s Italian in Oxford’s flagship restaurant, working alongside a talented team of chefs and gaining valuable experience under the influence of renowned chef Gennaro Contaldo. That background helped shape a style of catering that combines quality ingredients, strong presentation, thoughtful service and food that is full of flavour.
Today, Catering by Simon brings that experience into every event, offering bespoke catering designed around the client, the occasion and the atmosphere they want to create. From elegant canapés and refined sharing platters to generous buffets, premium BBQs, hog roasts, desserts and evening food, every menu is tailored with care and attention to detail.
